Lorena Solis Bravo is a Peruvian artist based in Amsterdam, their work is characterized by movement, transformation, and interconnection. It captures the ephemeral nature of existence, the constant flux of life and matter, and the threading of relationships that bind all entities in our universe. They invite viewers to experience a shift in perspective, to see themselves as part of the world we live in and in connection with the non-human. Their creative process mixes scientific research with mythology, science fiction, and poetry, resulting in dreamlike films and texts. Viewers often encounter non-human entities such as bacteria, viruses, or moths. They explore interspecies relationships, collective dimensions of identity, and global resistance to human environmental impact. These stories span the micro and macro scales of our universe, from microscopic organisms to dark matter shaping speculative landscapes. Their artistic practice moves between various mediums—from film to performance, sculpture, and text—each a portal where science, myth, and art blur. Through hypnotic narratives, they evoke ‘‘nature's’’ power and address the balance between humanity and the environment. Their work proposes dreaming as interspecies communication as a way to explore the boundaries between species, disciplines, and realities.
